Cesta hrdinu a jej divadelný jazyk
Divadlo je mocným nástrojom sebapoznania a transformácie. Paul Rebillot, herec, režisér a Gestalt terapeut, vyvinul techniku Cesta hrdinu, ktorá prepája divadelný jazyk, symboliku a archetypálne procesy v rámci osobnej transformácie.
Tento dramatoterapeutický prístup je postavený na myšlienke monomýtu Josepha Campbella, v ktorom hrdina odpovedá na volanie do neznáma, čelí svojim vnútorným tieňom a prechádza skúškami, aby sa vrátil domov so získaným poznaním.
Workshop ponúkne teoretický úvod, ktorý priblíži koncept Cesty hrdinu a jej divadelné prvky – prácu so symbolmi, pohyb, gestá a hlas. Druhá časť bude praktická – účastníci si prostredníctvom improvizovaných cvičení vyskúšajú, ako možno tieto princípy aplikovať v umeleckých a pomáhajúcich profesiách. Zameriame sa na interakciu medzi hrdinom a jeho/jej tieňom, ktorá je kľúčovým momentom Rebillotovho procesu.

Hero's Journey and its Theatrical Language
Theatre is a powerful tool for self-discovery and transformation. Paul Rebillot, an actor, director, and Gestalt therapist, developed the Hero's Journey technique, which integrates theatrical language, work with symbols, and archetypal processes into a structured personal transformation experience. This dramatherapeutic approach is based on Joseph Campbell's monomyth, where the hero answers the call to adventure, confronts inner shadows, undergoes trials, and returns back home with newfound wisdom.
The workshop will provide a theoretical introduction, explaining the concept of the Hero's Journey and its theatrical elements – work with symbols, movement, gestures, and voice. The second part will be practical, where participants will explore these principles through improvisational exercises. A key focus will be the interaction between the hero and his/her shadow, a central moment in Rebillot's process.
Registration for the workshop will take place on the first day at the conference venue!

Mgr.art. Patrik Krebs je divadelný režisér, lektor a doktorand na Slovenskej akadémii vied (Centrum vied o umení SAV, Ústav divadelnej a filmovej vedy). Vo svojej akademickej i umeleckej praxi sa zameriava na divadelnú tvorbu s marginalizovanými skupinami a na dramatoterapiu. Viac ako 20 rokov pracuje s ľuďmi bez domova, osobami s telesným a psychiatrickým postihnutím či s ľuďmi po výkone trestu.
Je principálom Divadla bez domova, jediného divadla na Slovensku, kde dlhodobo tvoria a účinkujú ľudia z rôznych sociálne vylúčených komunít. Okrem umeleckého vedenia divadla je spoluorganizátorom Medzinárodného festivalu bezdomoveckých divadiel ERROR, najväčšieho festivalu svojho druhu v Európe, ktorý v roku 2024 oslávi už 19. ročník.
V posledných 12 rokoch sa intenzívne venuje dramaterapeutickému procesu Cesta hrdinu podľa Paula Rebillota, ktorý vedie a zároveň skúma v rámci svojej dizertačnej práce. Jeho výskum sa zameriava na divadelný jazyk a estetiku Cesty hrdinu a ich vplyv na osobnú transformáciu účastníkov v umeleckých a pomáhajúcich profesiách.
Patrik Krebs dlhodobo prepája umenie, terapiu a aktivizmus. Verí v transformačný potenciál divadla a v jeho schopnosť byť nástrojom osobného i spoločenského prerodu.

Mgr.art. Patrik Krebs is a theater director, lecturer, and PhD student at the Slovak Academy of Sciences (Institute of Theatre and Film Research, Centre for Arts Sciences). His academic and artistic practice focuses on theater work with marginalized communities and dramatherapy. For over 20 years, he has worked with people experiencing homelessness, individuals with physical and psychiatric disabilities, and people after incarceration.
He is the principal of Divadlo bez domova (Theatre Without a Home), the only theater in Slovakia where people from socially excluded communities create and perform long-term. In addition to his artistic leadership, he is the co-organizer of the ERROR International Festival of Homeless Theaters, the largest festival of its kind in Europe, which will celebrate its 19th edition in 2024.
For the past 12 years, he has been deeply involved in the dramatherapeutic process "The Hero's Journey" by Paul Rebillot, which he facilitates and examines as part of his PhD research. His research focuses on the theatrical language and aesthetics of The Hero's Journey and its impact on personal transformation in artistic and helping professions.
Patrik Krebs continuously bridges art, therapy, and activism, believing in the transformative power of theater as a tool for both personal and societal change.
